The VIES agency send us a notification that the VAT ID number for :partner_name has been changed from :from to invalid.

Because of this change, the VAT ID number for :partner_name in our CMS has the status pending. This means that no invoices can be generated or send for this partner until the status is manually changed to invalid. Please proceed to the CMS and change the VAT ID status for :partner_name to invalid so we can continue to invoice this partner.

When the VAT ID of the partner is invalid, we have to add extra 21% Dutch vat charge to the commission. We have to do this because we can not prove to our Dutch government tax agency that our partner is a (vat) registered company in its country. If the partner is a (vat) registered company, they can apply for a EU vat number via the VIES agency. If they do not apply for an EU vat number, they can request a refund of the 21% Dutch vat we charge, once a year, via their local government tax agency in their country.
